Events We received the following email this morning re the National Youth Jazz Orchestra's St Ives gig on Friday 10th Sept...

Dear Sir

I am emailing local groups who might be interested in an event being organised for the St Ives September Fringe Festival.

We (The Rotary Club of St Ives) have booked THE NATIONAL YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA at St Ives Guildhall for this Friday, 10th September 2004, starting at 8:00 pm.††I appreciate that it is short notice but I felt that with tickets still available it would do not harm to let local and not so local jazz clubs know that this is on.

NYJO is well-known throughout the world as a glittering show-case for the country's best young musicians. During the orchestra's long history since 1965, most of the rising generation of jazz musicians have passed through its ranks. One of NYJO's aims is to share the talents of these exciting young players with as wide an audience as possible.

Tickets are still available, with tickets in the stalls costing £13 each†available from St Ives Tourist Information Centre Tel: 01736 796297, or†on the door.

If it would be possible to pass this information to†anybody who might be interested we would be most grateful,†and look forward to seeing anybody who feels like making a bit of a journey for what should be an excellent evening of Jazz.

Kind regards

Derek Hall
St Ives Rotary Club
