Events Princess Pavilion, Saturday 11th December...

Zion Train are a dub phenomenon. Their work from the past decade still sounds fresh to today's discerning ears. Their recorded output is prolific with an album a year and innumerable production credits, remixes and song writing collaborations.

2001 saw Zion Train celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band and as curators of their innovative Universal Egg record label. They also launched Dubport, their definitive online digital dub and roots music, news and information resource. Featuring exclusive MP3 albums and mixes, interviews with dub artists, live broadcasts of shows and specially recorded selections by top UK and Jamaican soundmen.

Zion Train's eighth album ' Original Sounds of the Zion' released on Universal Egg in Spring 2002, features the beautiful tones of regular vocalist Molara
along with contributions from London based Jamaican star Levi Roots, Johno, toaster from highly respected Manchester dubbers Nucleus Roots and crooner Pat Fulgoni of funk outfit Kava Kava. With contributions from renowned UK brass section Crispy Horns, guitarist Marcus Campbell, playing on his first Zion Train album, Cod on melodica and DJ Perch's amazing mixing dexterity the album is a stunning mixture of melodic songs, dancefloor beats and deep dub. Autumn 2004 will see an album of remixes from ‘OSZ’, featuring reinterpretations by many exciting musicians, including Transglobal Underground, Dreadzone’s Ben Balafonic and Rob Smith from Smith & Mighty.

The Zion Train live experience is legendary, around the globe audiences are whipped into a frenzy by their pounding bass and heavy rhythms. After a decade the band and their music are revitalised and anyone who sees Zion Train live must agree that the zest and positive energy still abounds, so tune in to the original sounds of the Zion.
