The Magic Hat Ensemble delve into the rich musical history of jazz from the 40's and 50's re-working classic standards and bop tunes. Former Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers player Jean Toussaint has become known for a big rich sound, and for deeply melodic, swinging, surging jazz. He’s also worked with Wynton Marsalis, McCoy Tyner and Gil Evans, and regularly led the jam session at New York’s Blue Note club.
