Larry Stabbins at the S&G Star & Garter / Music at the Star & Garter Date: Jun 08, 2004 - 01:15 PM Just received the updates to the S&G Monday night jazz giglist - looks like an excellent month, especially for saxophone fans... Trumpeter Monty Ray's gig last night was well up to his usual high standard - I recorded it, and will have a couple of tracks, probably including an inventive and fast version of Lee Morgan's "Sidewinder", available for download soon. John Cox (alto, tenor, saxello) returns on June 21st, followed by Alan Thompson (gtr) on the 28th. Larry Stabbins (saxes) is new to the Star & Garter on July 5th, but certainly not to the British jazz scene. See here for information on his latest release and career. Should be well worth seeing. John Woollams (tenor) is back again on July 12th.
