Its 25 years ago that the rock world was shaken by the tragic death of Ronald Belford Scott, one of Forfar's finest sons. Bon Scott was arguably the best voice in rock at the time of his death. Without a shadow of a doubt, he was one of its most distinctive voices. He may be gone but he is certainly not forgotten.

Keeping the dream alive here in the UK the Keay Theatre host Livewire AC/DC. This is the country's leading AC/DC tribute band. Originally from Hull, the band features schoolboy impersonator Gary Foster, who plays a mean SG Gibson guitar, Angus-style, Grant Foster as the new Brian Johnson and John Benfleet as Bon Scott.

To help AC/DC fans all over the country pay homage to Bon Scott, Livewire's shows throughout have carefully recreated the set list Scott and the band played at an infamous gig at the Pavilion de Paris in December 1979.

On the 20th October Livewire AC/DC will rock for two hours featuring both eras in a non stop frenzy of rock. The musicianship of all the players, their rapport with the audience and sheer sense of theatre will be a joy to all who attend. With a name like Livewire AC/DC it is clear that we are in for a night of good old fashioned, hell for leather rock!

John Benfleet, physically a dead ringer for a young Roger Daltrey, is an absolute sensation as Bon Scott, picking out the Scotsman's shrill yet gruff vocal sound precisely throughout, following his vocal style without falter, timing his delivery to the absolute nanosecond, a first-class performance.
Darren Wood (drums), Eric Hodgetts (rhythm guitar) and Eddie Clark (bass) really play their parts brilliantly, Clark clearly with an eye for great detail deploys a Cliff Williams' identikit wig and sunburst-finish Fender Precision bass. Grant Foster, wearing a standard issue Johnson flat cap, takes over from Benfleet after a vintage version of 'Let There Be Rock' to showcase tracks from the 'Back in Black' album.

Sparks will fly as the band play out some high voltage rock n' roll and a great time will be had by all. Livewire are not your average AC/DC tribute riff raff or noise polluters. They are seasoned pros. For all those about to rock but not present to bear witness tonight we say, make sure you don't miss this band next time they hit town!
