Traveling through deepest Africa, a man was driven to distraction by the incessant sound of drums throughout the jungle. He nervously asked his guide what the drums were for. "Drums good," replied the guide. "When drums stop, very bad." Hour after hour, the drums continued. "Please tell me," the man insisted to his guide, "what do the drums mean?" "Drums good," the guide repeated. "When drums stop, very bad." Soon after, though, the drums came to a halt and all was silent. Nearly panicked, the man demanded of his guide, "What happened to the drums? What does it mean?" "Very bad," his guide said, shaking his head. "When drums stop, bass solo begins."
