Press Release - Make Mine an Arvey Wallbanger (Steve Arvey & BluesMove at the Falmouth Arts Centre, Sept 5th 2003)...

Chicago blues guitaritst, Steve Arvey, will be playing the first of 21 UK dates at the Falmouth Arts Centre next Friday (5th). Steve will be backed by UK blues band, BluesMove, featuring Penryn drummer Mike Hellier.

Steve's toured the UK regularly over the past few years including sets at the Great British Rn'B Festival in Colne. This year's tour will be taking him all over the country from Cornwall to the Orkney Blues Festival via London, Wales and the Midlands and other many other places besides.

Steve Arvey's long career had an illustrious start when he was asked to play bass in Bo Diddley's band . "Bo Diddley is the best" Steve later said, "No ego, had patience, and is just a great guy to hang out with". Though mainly an electric blues guitarist Steve was soon approached by publicists for the Irish beer, Harp Lager, to play Irish music, sponsored by them. He seized the opportunity, and immersed himself in the Old Town School of Folk Music, playing 150 dates a year at clubs in the Chicago area.

At this point in his career, Steve is a regular at many of the big international blues festivals, tours the US, Australia and the UK regularly and has just been sponsored by Gibson Guitars.
